Too much fishing threatens the world fishing

poisson.JPGWe are a group of students from ISEG Nantes, working on the effects of Fishing and  new laws promulgated by the European Union in this regard. We are focusing our effort on the Atlantic port of La Turballe for our Research work, The following articles are submitted as part of our Research work in this regard.

 Article 1
The United Nations fun for Environment has revealed recently, during a session in Monaco in March 2008 that the future of the world fishing would largely be threatened by the global warming, the pollutions of diverse origin or still the acidification of the oceans.

The consequences of such a report can be disturbing, especially for the food (feeding) of million persons. The Research led by the European and the American scholars has revealed that «the oceans are struck by several factors of stress. They are overfished, often by means of trawl nets scraping capital and destroying the ecosystems. These oceans absorb pollution which is 80 % of terrestrial origin. It is feared that because of the CO2 absorbed by the oceans they could become even more acidic than when dinosaurs disappeared .

Besides, the report tells us about the worrying status of the future of the system of natural pumps, the system allowing to renew the water of the continental shelf and to evacuate the pollution.
If this very fragile system breaks off, "the stocks of fishes risks to collapse in the next decades ". Achim Steiner, the executive director of the PNUE, the UN Environmental body, is starting his campaign against this over-fishing. According to him, it is necessary that the government listens and decision-makers since the fight would be lost beforehand without them.
